AMAs at The Den

What is an AMA: AMAs are Ask Me Anythings. They are low pressure opportunities for parents & caregivers to get their questions asked while a specialist is onsite in The Den’s lounge. The goal of AMAs at The Den is to remove the burden on a parent to get answers they are seeking.

Join us for an AMA every Friday from 10:30-11am in the lounge! Offering included with entry/free for Den members.

Upcoming AMA Speakers:

April 26 - Dr. Manaal Sajid and Dr. Molly Jankovsky

Discussions about trauma are more common in our world today, but what do we really mean when we talk about “trauma,” and why is this topic important for parents, caregivers, and families? Join us in a candid discussion around the topic of trauma, the various therapeutic modalities in treating trauma, and how to choose a trauma-informed therapist. There will be no expectation for anyone to share personal stories so grab a cup of joe and join us as we explore this often-taboo topic.

Dr. Manaal Sajid is a licensed clinical psychologist at EK Counseling, specializing in trauma, grief and loss, gender/sexual identity, and racial/ethnic identity issues. She has worked in a variety of settings with adolescents, emerging adults, and adult populations. Dr. Molly Jankovsky is a licensed clinical social worker and psychologist candidate. Drawing from a decade of experience in the mental health field, she specializes in depression and anxiety, grief and loss, gender and identity, self-esteem, and relationship challenges.

Questions that will be addressed by this AMA include:

  • How do I know if I or a loved one have been impacted by trauma?

  • How do I know if trauma-focused treatment, like SE or EMDR, is right for me or my family

  • Are approaches like SE and EMDR appropriate for children/adolescents?

  • What does it mean to be “trauma informed” when it comes to therapy?

May 17 - Tina of Sleep Talkers

June 14 - Lauren Stollman DPT

Learning More About the Pelvic Floor by Dr. Lauren Stollman, DPT

Lauren received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. She was born in Denver, grew up in Kansas City, and, like a boomerang, she has returned back to Denver. She loves working with people of all ages and stages, and anyone from super-moms to high level athletes. She believes in building quality relationships with her patients, becoming a teammate and collaborator, to provide them with the best quality of care for their success in achieving their goals.

"In addition to treating sports and typical orthopedic conditions, I choose to specialize in providing care for women’s health and pelvic floor. Throughout my physical therapy practice, I have heard so many times “I had to stop [insert favorite activity/sport here] after I had kids because of pelvic pain or leakage” and many women accept this for the rest of their lives, giving up their stress outlet, their enjoyment, their community. My mission is to empower women to challenge this idea, because there are so many things we can do through pelvic floor physical therapy to make real differences to get you back to what you love without fear or compromising your goals"
